Join me in supporting real change. Let’s support good in the world and make a difference. Help us for Bridges to Community, Inc.

Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Bridges to Community, Inc.

Back in 2010 I did my first Bridges trip to Nicaragua to build my first house, I returned every year through 2017 and have missed this in my life.

All eight trips to Nicaragua have been life changing for me and I am sure that my first trip to the Dominican Republic will be what I need in my life again.

I appreciate all your support in my prior trips and look forward to sharing my experience with everyone once again.

Mariela Jiménez, 48, lives with her husband, Milciades, 58, in the community of Gajo Largo. Although
Mariela has no biological children, she raised three family members and neighbors as if they were her own and continues to supply them with meals. Mariela and Milciades have lived in Gajo Largo for 23 years and earn a living through farming. When Bridges has North American volunteer groups in town, Mariela also works as part of the cleaning crew.
Their humble abode is sleeping-room only with a leaking roof and a dirt floor. The family spends most of their time outdoors, cooking in the open air.
Mariela feels grateful that she will be a house recipient and is proud to work with the volunteer groups that come to make a positive change in her community.
